Adventure

Silk Road Caravan

Silk Road Caravan is a 5-reel game with four rows instead of three and 25 lines, following a camel train to a walled oasis town. The camel is wild and pays for itself. There is no bonus round: every coin that comes back comes from lines.

How it plays

The rules of Silk Road Caravan

  1. Each spin plays all 25 lines across the 5 reels and 4 rows. Three, four or five matching symbols on a line, counted from reel 1, make a win.
  2. The camel is wild on every reel and stands in for every other symbol. Three, four or five camels from the left pay 60, 250 or 1,250 times the line cost.
  3. A run that starts with camels pays the better of the camels alone or the full run of the symbol after them.
  4. There are no free spins and no bonus round. With four rows each line has more cells to cross, so this game returns something more often than most of the others: 1 spin in 1.7 in our test.

The feature

No bonus round, more lines

Without a bonus round the swings are smaller. The biggest single round in our test returned 92 times the spin cost, against 788 times in Tidewatch.

Silk Road Caravan: illustration of a camel caravan crossing dunes towards an oasis town
The cover shows the caravan crossing the dunes in late sun, led by a traveller in a blue robe, with lanterns swinging from the saddles and bales of silk on the camels. The symbols are the cargo and the kit: brass lanterns, sacks of spice, a bolt of silk, a compass, a bowl of dates, a teapot and a rolled map.

What pays

Symbols and pays in Silk Road Caravan

At 100 coins a spin on 25 lines, each line costs 4 coins, so three brass lantern symbols on a line pay 40 × 4 = 160 coins.

Pays are in multiples of the line cost. “3 for 50” means three in a row pay 50 times that amount.
