Bramble Hollow

Bramble Hollow is a 5-reel, 3-row game with no lines: a symbol pays wherever it lands on neighbouring reels from the left, which gives 243 ways to win. Winning symbols drop out, new ones fall in, and each further win in the same spin is multiplied.

How it plays

The rules of Bramble Hollow

  1. A symbol pays when it appears on reels 1, 2 and 3 (and on to 4 and 5), in any row. The count of matching cells on each of those reels is multiplied together: two on one reel doubles the win, two on two reels makes it four times.
  2. The owl lands only on reels 2, 3 and 4. It stands in for every symbol and has no pay of its own.
  3. After a win, every winning symbol is cleared, the symbols above drop down and new ones fall into the gaps. If that makes a new win, it pays and the clearing repeats.
  4. The first win in a spin pays as shown, the second pays double, the third triple and every one after that five times.
  5. Pays are counted per way in twentieths of the spin cost; the example under What pays works one through.

The feature

Falling symbols, rising multiplier

Something came back on 1 spin in 1.5 in our test, the most often of the six, because 243 ways catch more matches than lines do. Most of those returns are smaller than the spin cost; the falls and the multiplier make the bigger ones.

Bramble Hollow: illustration of a hedgehog, a fox and a badger under a bramble hedge, an owl above
The cover shows a woodland hollow at dusk with a hedgehog, a red fox and a badger among blackberries and toadstools, and a tawny owl on a branch above. The owl is the wild symbol, the three animals pay the most, and blackberries, acorns, toadstools and oak leaves pay the least.

What pays

Symbols and pays in Bramble Hollow

At 100 coins a spin, a twentieth is 5 coins, so three hedgehogs on one way pay 6 × 5 = 30 coins, and on two ways (two hedgehogs on one reel) 60 coins.

Pays are in multiples of the twentieth of the spin cost, per way. “3 for 50” means three in a row pay 50 times that amount.
